PBVS Mindarie PRO - Womens Finals
The top two seeded teams Johnson/West and Day/Holmes progressed through their pools with relative ease to set up the final which ended up being the match of the day.
Tara and Mel played efficiently with few errors to take the first set relatively comfortably.
In the second set however Jen and Fleur stepped up their defensive game and led for the majority of the second set and ending up with two set points at 20-18. Some determined play Johnson saw them deny both set points. Teams traded service points and the lead creating set and match point opportunities. West and Johnson were able to create more pressure over time and claimed the second set and the match 26-24.
The girls were excited with the win and their share of the $2000 prize money. Especially excited was Tara after missing the first event because of playing commitments with partner for this national season Natalie Cook.
